The tranquility offered by ASC

A function specific to the President manufacturer, extremely beneficial both in using the product in urban and rural areas, is the ASC (Automatic Squelch Control) which helps reduce background noise when the user is not communicating. It analyzes automatically and all the time, the reception of the radio transmission signal and the background noise level.

Generous display with multicolored lighting

The generously sized LCD display provides all the information we need without having to access the menu. The number of the channel used, the band in which we emit (FM, AM, LSB, USB, CW), the frequency standard used as well as an important aspect for experienced users, the simultaneous display of the channel frequency are just some of the multiple functions displayed on the screen.

For a better match with the lights of the on-board instruments, the reception station comes, as standard equipment, with the possibility of exchanging the display lighting in three colors (orange, green, blue). The buttons are made of materials pleasant to the touch, being strategically positioned to facilitate the user in everyday use.

The functions that make the difference

The President LINCOLN II+ ASC amateur radio station is equipped with a long series of functions, the most important of which are: DW (Dual Watch) allows simultaneous viewing of two channels. When one of the channels becomes active, you automatically switch to it.

The CTCSS (Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System) or DCS (Digital Coded Squelch) functions allow the user to code a certain channel and thus the conversations are carried out only between those who own the same device model or the stations are provided with the respective function.

Two functions are used to eliminate more than 90% of background noise during radio frequency transmissions: NB (Noise Blanker) and ANL (Automatic Noise Limiter). They can be used independently, but the manufacturer recommends using them together. The Hi-Cut function is a tool implemented to eliminate high frequency interference.

Always ready for the road

The relatively large dimensions recommend it for use in a larger passenger compartment, such as that of trucks. It can also be installed in a car, but the occupied space, regardless of the position, will be quite high and possibly uncomfortable. To obtain maximum performance, we recommend powering directly from the battery terminals and using an antenna with a height of over 1 m.

The performance of the product is closely related to the technical characteristics of the antenna in ideal conditions of installation and use: SWR <= 1.2, maximum applied power 200 W, impedance 50 Ohms, stainless steel, etc.

Communication distance

The communication distance is another decisive factor in the purchase and use of a CB antenna. Thus, the maximum communication distance of 9 km is achieved in ideal working conditions: calibrated antenna, open field without obstacles, the station with the legally permitted maximum power of 4W and with a standard reception. Any obstacle such as: hills, mountains, buildings, walls can reduce this distance.

Antenna length

The length of the antenna is a very important factor that can influence the communication distance. Thus, the longer the antenna, the greater the range of action. The PNI ML70 antenna is 70 cm long (magnetic base included).

Magnetic base

The magnetic base PNI 145/PL in the package is provided with a 4 m cable, enough for placing the antenna on the dome, it has a diameter of 145 mm and a strong magnet that gives the antenna stability even at high speeds.

This kit is ready for assembly with: antenna, magnetic base with cable and plug PL259, Allen key for calibration. All you have to do is mount the antenna on the magnetic base, connect it to a CB radio station and calibrate it to use it at maximum performance.
