For a longer communication distance and for powering the station to the car battery, attach the power adapter. Compatible only with the HP 72 PNI station, it has two connectors: the cigarette lighter plug for powering the car battery and the SO239 plug for connecting the station to an external antenna. |
UseRemove the TNC antenna and battery pack from the station. Connect the adapter's SO239 plug into the PL259 plug of the car's dome-mounted antenna. Plug the adapter's cigarette lighter plug into the dedicated slot on your car's dashboard. Now you can use the HP 72 PNI station as a mobile station. |
