A practical portable scanner

With a generous screen, an alpha numeric keypad, and many different features, such as "Call End", which will detect nearby signals make it a very popular manual scanner for listening to airtime broadcasts.

It is able to receive both aircraft transmissions, civilian, commercial, military institutions, public emergency services and many more. It will also receive emergency communications, marine, amateur (radio amateurs) and other communications.

Comes complete with an antenna, power supply, belt clip and user manual. The frequency range is 25-1300 MHz (with gaps).

Ways of working

The Uniden SDS100EDN scanner usually allows you to set either AM (Amplitude Modulation) or FM (Frequency Modulation). It can also have NFM (Narrow FM), WFM (Wide FM) and FMB. More details about each tape can be found in the user manual of the product.

This model comes with DMR and NXDN features enabled.

Search and scan

When using the scanner, you can use the "Search" mode in which it searches through a range of frequencies until it stops when it finds a transmission to listen to, or you can use the "Scan" mode where you store specific frequencies in the scanner and it will scan only through these frequencies until it finds a transmission.

The innovative channel organization system is based on the structure of frequencies and their storage in a dynamic way. The system is called DMA (Dynamic Memory Architecture) and offers a much more efficient organization of the channels, frequencies and emissions received.

Scanner range

With the Uniden SDS100EDN scanner, you can easily pick up transmissions from aircraft to air, as there are no obstacles between you and the aircraft, but you may not hear the control tower of a nearby airport because there are obstacles, such as hills. and buildings etc. If you want to hear the control tower as well as the plane, then you should be in the vicinity of the airport.
